► London Olympics 2012
A Games for the youth of the world
London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Chair Sebastian Coe has confirmed its vision "to stage inspirational Games that capture the imagination of young people around the world and leave a lasting legacy."
Now the London 2012 organising committee and the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) are working, along with key stakeholders from national and city government and sport, to deliver on that vision.
The organising committee will organise, publicise and stage the 2012 Games. It will also report directly to the International Olympic Committee on London 2012.
The ODA will deliver the new venues and infrastructure ready in time for 2012.
Both organisations report into the Olympic Board, made up of Olympics Minister Tessa Jowell, the Mayor of London Ken Livingstone, BOA Chairman Colin Moynihan and organising committee Chair Sebastian Coe.
