The idea of this “model” website is to give you an indication of some of our ideas and hopefully encourage you to make suggestions as to what you would like a students’ association to do.
The new website aims to include features to help create an online community for everyone on the external programme, for example:
- private subject board areas, such as Accounting, Laws, Economics, etc., where you can create your own network;
- private chat rooms for your own course and open ‘world’ chat rooms for all external students;
- a blog area for the subject networks;
- live subject area chat rooms;
- an information download area covering academic and welfare issues;
- an alumni area;
- a classifieds area where students can offer books for sale, accommodation wanted/offered, etc;
· a student representative area where you can access briefings on course and programme committee meetings and contact your student representative, who is there to represent the views and interests of the student body, on a confidential basis; and
· a guide to visiting London area.
Please take a few moments to let us know what you think.
1. Do you think the External Programme Students’ Association is a good idea?
2. What would you like to see on the website?
3. Which pages look the most promising?
4. Which pages look the least promising?
5. Would you like message boards?
6. We are thinking about producing a quarterly magazine, is this something you’d be interested in and, if so, what would you like it to include?
7. What would you most like ULU to work for on your behalf?
Please let us have your comments on these questions, and any other views you have on the EPSA, by emailing us at externalprog@ulu.lon.ac.uk.
